Parish Faith Formation Grants
Continue to Have a Meaningful Impact |
|
Now in it's third year, the parish based faith formation grants continue to be a sought after source of funding which has a meaningful impact in our parishes.
This year, forty-seven parishes applied for the highly competitive Parish Based Faith Formation Grant, which is funded by the generosity of parishioners through the Catholic Ministries Appeal.
To be considered for the grant, a parish must submit an initiative that demonstrates an effort to equip missionary disciples, and must focus on at least one of these areas:
-
Promoting life-long discipleship formation and activities
-
Inviting and welcoming home Catholics and non-Catholics into the parish
-
Providing spiritual support to families, singles, youth and young adults
-
Using updated technology and media to grow faith formation events
Now under review, the grants will be awarded in early June, for distribution by July 1, 2025. Stay tuned for a list of the initiatives selected through the grant process.

Rev. Mr. Jan Carlo Perez
Ordained to Transitional Diaconate
at Cathedral of St. Peter |
On May 24, Seminarian Jan Carlo Perez reached another milestone in his journey to the priesthood as he was ordained a transitional deacon by Bishop Bambera.
Perez is looking forward to serving the people of our diocese and helping them come "to a deeper understanding of their faith, to trust in Jesus more, to trust in God more, and to live out this mystery that God has given to us,” Perez explained.
He often attended Eucharistic Adoration after school on weekdays at Saint Matthew's Parish and feels that's where his vocation was "born." |

USCCB Prayer for Pope Leo XIV |
|
 |
O God, shepherd and ruler of all the faithful,
look favorably on your servant Leo,
whom you have set at the head of your Church as her shepherd;
grant, we pray, that by word and example
he may be of service to those over whom he presides
so that, together with the flock entrusted to his care,
he may come to everlasting life.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God, for ever and ever. Amen.
