Fans Turn Out in Droves for

Catholic Night at PNC Stadium

Over 200 diocesan Catholics came out for a fun family evening at the ballpark as the Scranton-Wilkes Barre RailRiders took on the Syracuse Mets!

It was a big night for the home team as they cruised past the Mets with a 10-3 win.  Big bats, smart base running and a steady pitching performance made this one a statement win; part of their larger 3 game sweep of the Mets!

The evening concluded with a spectacular post game fireworks display as the night sky burst into color above the crowd.  It was a breathtaking finale that lit up the hearts of everyone watching.

Williamsport Parishes Prepare

to Grow with Purpose

Parish leaders and staff from Saint Ann, Saint Boniface and Saint Joseph the Worker in Williamsport recently came together preparing to grow with purpose.

Performing simple self-assessments, the parishes reflected on their evangelization strengths and areas for growth through the Sent Parish evangelization readiness initiative. The parishes reviewed the assessments during meaningful and insightful small group discussions.

In the upcoming coaching phase, the parishes will have the opportunity to set goals, develop action plans and track progress through focused coaching, peer support and accountability within the groups.

Three Parish Consolidations to Take Effect July 1st

Blessed Carlo Acutis Parish was the name chosen for the newly consolidated parishes of Blessed Sacrament Parish, Throop and Holy Cross Parish, Olyphant.  Both parishes retain Father Scott Sterowski as pastor and John Musyt as deacon.  Upon Blessed Carlo's September 7th canonization, the parish will be Saint Carlo Acutis Parish.

In Hazleton, Our Lady of Peace Parish was the name chosen for the newly consolidated parishes of Most Precious Blood Parish and Queen of Heaven Parish.  Father Anthony Generose, current pastor of both parishes will remain to serve as pastor, while Father Rafael Ofarri Bermudez Gonzalez was appointed assistant pastor and will also serve the newly consolidated parish.

Saint Pius of Pietrelcina Parish in honor of Saint Padre Pio, is the name of the newly consolidated parishes of Annunciation Parish, Hazleton and Holy Name of Jesus Parish in West Hazleton.  Father Kevin Miller will continue as pastor.  Father Neftali Feliz-Sena and Father Benito Hierro Aquino have been appointed assistant pastors.

Pilgrims to Make Traditional Trek to St. Ann's Basilica to Close Novena

For over 100 years, people have pilgrimaged on the last day of the St. Ann novena to the very first Mass (4:30 AM) on the Feast Day of St. Ann.

St. Ann is Jesus’ grandmother, the mother of our Blessed Mother.  She is an extremely powerful intercessor, and many miracles have been attributed to her intercession through this devotion.

Join this pilgrimage walk to conclude the 2025 St. Ann’s Novena.
